A few ways to support Albert Kennedy Trust this summer

A few ways to support Albert Kennedy Trust this summer
Posted by Josh Rafter

In case you didn’t know, Outlet is a big supporter of the Albert Kennedy Trust, a charity that supports young LGBT people who are homeless or in crisis.

The charity organises and supports fundraising events all year round, but this summer in particular there are plenty of ways you can get fit, or have a little fun while also supporting this amazing cause.

Of course, you don’t have to actually take part in physical activity to show your support. You can go along to any of the events or cheer on your friends or family members doing the running, cycling and so on.

Here are a few things coming up that you can take part in:

A&Out Summer Drinks at Allen Overy, One Bishops Square
Wednesday 1 July

Barclays Spectrum and Allen & Overy’s A&Out have teamed up again for their annual summer event, in aid of The Albert Kennedy Trust.

There will be a silent auction hosted by a celebrity guest with a range of fantastic prizes, as well as a raffle and entertainment. All proceeds raised will go directly to The Albert Kennedy Trust. A small donation to the charity will also be payable directly to attend.

The theme of this year’s event is on LGBT rejection in young people. Tickets are £25 each and include all drinks. Click here to book.

London to Paris Bike Ride
July 2016

With a minimum sponsorship target of £1,470 per participant, this is a sporting event for the serious fundraiser – and the seriously fit! The London to Paris bike ride covers 295 miles over four days. You’ll start in the Kent countryside, make way to Dover before crossing the Channel to Calais then Paris.

A booking Fee of £99 applies. Click here for the full itinerary.

The AKT Pride Appeal

The trust is aiming to raise £15,000 this summer alone in donations from supporters. £10 will give a young person in need of help a mobile phone top-up while the Albert Kennedy Trust helps find them a home. £25 will fund an emergency support pack, consisting of one night’s accommodation, food and travel costs. £224 provides seven night’s accommodation in the ‘Purple Door’ house for a young person – giving them enough time to find them a longer-term solution. Donate here.
