The new Soho pop-up that's helping refugees rebuild their lives
Posted by Josh Rafter

Help Refugees, a charitable organisation that supports people who have been left with no choice but to flee their homes and country, has opened a pop-up shop in London.

At the Soho store, called ‘Choose Love’, you can buy actual gifts that go straight to refugees, including practical items like socks, medical supplies, cooking items and blankets. In addition to the items handed over to people who really need them, profits from the shop will support the not-for-profit organisation’s other work across Europe and the Middle East.

The UN reports that in excess of five million people are in desperate need of help having fled Syria since 2016. That doesn't include millions of people still living in the country who have been displaced from their own homes. War is something that could impact any of us at any time, leaving us in grave danger and with no property or posessions. This shop provides a great way to do something kind for a refugee who really needs your help. Plus, with products starting as low as £4.99, most of us can afford to do our bit and show them some support.

Visit Choose Love on Broadwick Street, Soho. The plan is for it to remain open until 31 Jan 2018 and an online version is also in the works so keep your eyes peeled at helprefugees.org
